Excel Edit Menu

Excel Edit Menu

A click on the "Edit" tab in the Menubar or pressing "Alt + E" keys will open the Edit menu. By default Excel opens the menu with commonly used commands only. (All commands available under the menu can be viewed by a click on the double downward arrow circular tab at the bottom of the menu.) A small triangle against a command name indicates a sub-menu for the command. The commands listed under File Menu can be executed or the sub-menu can be opened by a click on its icon / tab or by pressing key for the underlined letter after opening the menu (or by pressing the keys listed on the right side of the command name). The commands listed under Edit menu are :

Undo (last action)Undo last action.
Repeat (last action)Repeat last action.
CutIdentify the contents of selected cell(s) to be moved to another location. Please note that "Cut" and "Paste" will change the address of the cell in a formula.
CopyIdentify the contents of the selected cells to be copied at another location.
PasteEnables to select data stored on the clipboard (by previous "Cut" and "Copy" actions in the current session) for pasting.
Paste SpecialPaste the contents of the cell(s) identified for moving or copying by "Cut" of "Move" command. Please note that "Paste" command copies of moves the entire contents of the cell(s) including its format to the destination cell(s).

Office ClipboardEnables to copy or move all or only desired specific contents of the cell. You can copy or move only formats or only contents or only formulas or only values etc. by using this command.
FillEnables filling of the data in selected range of cells as series or copy from first cell in the column/row of the selected range of cell.
ClearEnables to clear the selected parameter of contents of selected cells viz. all, formats, contents and / or comments.
DeleteDelete the contents of selected cells. Please note that the command only deletes the contents of cells without deleting the formats and comments of the selected cells. The command can also be executed by pressing "Delete" key on the keyboard.
Delete SheetDeletes entire worksheet.
Move or Copy SheetEnables to move or copy the entire worksheet to another worksheet.
FindFind the typed Text or number(s) in the open worksheet.
ReplaceEnables to replace Text and or numbers with another in the worksheet.
Go ToEnables to select the typed cell address in the open worksheet.
